Join the Business Start Up Course Free!

GHW Websites

Dear Friends,

We are inviting you and your contacts to join our Business Start Up Class, a virtual learning course operated by the George Henry White Center.

The class will be Monday evenings, online, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  It will introduce ways for you to build income using what you have access to right now.

The course is based on the bestselling “Who Owns the Ice House?” book.  It is being taught by Mr. Ed Hunt, who is not only a farmer and educator, but a business development specialist certified by NC IDEA.

Ed is a warm and wonderful instructor.  He knows the realities we all face.  He teaches business start up classes at UNC Pembroke, but he’s inspired by the possibilities of helping the Bladen and Columbus residents grow financially.

We know you are busy, and we know you have unique challenges.  Ed will help us identify our strengths, understand how things we may not even realize we have can help us produce income.

If you want to get ahead, this is an investment in building the life you have always wanted.

Here are the details:

  • Time commitment: Monday evenings, Jan. 27-March 17, 6-8 p.m  with a break.

  • How: By Zoom meeting.  You will need access to WiFi and a good screen of some kind.

  • Where: Your own home, office, library, or dorm room.

  • Materials: We will send you the online link to access the learning materials.  Those who prefer to work on the printed workbook can indicate that, and we will send you the paperback workbook.

  • What you’ll get: A new way of seeing your options, understanding how you can start a successful business, and fun conversations with others with goals and a dream of their own business.

  • Cost to you: No cost.

Thanks to the Conservation Fund's Creating New Economies Fund grant, and the NC IDEA foundation, we are able to offer this training for free, even including the cost of books and materials.  We are making it available online, with future classes possible, in order to let the most people participate, regardless of their location or other commitments.
