An exciting health-centered event will take place Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center—and you are invited!
Health providers, entertainers and community specialists are joining forces to bring valuable resources to the communities of the Columbus and Bladen counties, with fun, food, and friends.
The event is being coordinated by Dr. Marie Campbell, DNP, FNP-BC, and involves support from Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Columbus County Partnership for Children, The DREAM Center, Novant Health, WMNX Radio 97.3, and a number of health providers and medical vendors. Gifts, raffles, refreshments, and other activities will engage every member of the family.
“This will cover everything from infancy to elder care--and from the top of the head to the tip of the toe,” said Dr. Campbell. “Coast Radio 97.3 DJ Sammy Figgs is providing music; there will be face painting and games and books for children. Adults can get tested for several different health issues. We will have CPR classes going on all day, and first aid instruction for serious injuries.”
“A highlight of the day is the helicopter landing by Novant Health, showing how injuries can be transported to medical care. This and other EMS services will be viewable by guests.”
