On Wednesday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can receive the Coronavirus prevention shot that protects you and your loved ones. Bladen County has designated the George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center, at 731 Farmers Union Road in Bladen County, Clarkton, NC as a site for all people, 12 and older, to be vaccinated. This is a FREE service.
The vaccines have been shown to protect from COVID and the Delta variant of the virus. In contrast, more than 99 percent of hospitalizations are for those who have not been vaccinated. According to the New York Times, only 27 percent of Bladen residents have been vaccinated, so the COVID (Delta variant) spread is increasing. "An average of 31 cases per day were reported in Bladen County, a 43 percent increase from the average two weeks ago. Since the beginning of the pandemic, at least 1 in 7 residents have been infected, a total of 4,365 reported cases. Right now, Bladen County is at an extremely high risk for unvaccinated people."
The vaccines are safe, well-tested, and can be received by pregnant women. If you have allergies to the ingredients in the vaccine, or if you have questions about any existing conditions you may have, please consult your doctor.
